What is a skill coaching event?
At Launch365 we have built skill models for a number of fundamental business skills. Each model contains key requirements for high performance of that skill. The model is a guide to performing the skill well and for coaching. Coaching is about improving performance in a specific skill. A skill coaching event is an event where a Skill Expert observes a person performing that skill live in a real life setting and then provides feedback and scores on each part of the skill as well as the skill overall. A coaching event typically is about 3 hours and has 3 parts to it. The first part is preparation for the event. The Skill Expert works with the learner to help prepare for high performance. The second part is the actual real life event where the Skill Expert observes the performance of the learner. After the event, the Skill Expert provides feedback, including what was done well and what needs to be improved. The learner leaves the event with scores and feedback on each part of the skill, as well as the skill as a whole, and a plan to move the learning forward to ensure performance improvement.
